Goblet/wine glass made of bluish-tinted glass (fluorescent under black light, the light blue color achieved with cobalt as a decolorizing agent), rising bell-shaped foot with a chipped rim, stem with air column, ovoid bowl with a warmed rim, the front of the glass engraved with the six-petaled white Stuart Rose (Francis Edward Stuart) between two branches, representing his sons Charles and Henry Stuart, on the reverse a moth, symbolizing the return of the soul (Jacobite movement). The Rhine wine glass is in good condition. Northern Germany or England, circa 1745-60. Height: approx. 16.7 cm, diameter: approx. 6.5 cm.
