Small vase made of colorless glass, blown in the model, ruby red interior with copper aventurine melts and yellow color crumb melts, spherical body with tubular neck and widened and fused mouth rim. Vase is in undamaged condition. Cristallerie Val St. Lambert, design by Jeanne and Romain Gevaert, Onion de Jemeppe series, around 1910. Height: approx. 10.5 cm. Diameter: approx. 7.5 cm. Lit: Romain Gevaert was director of the Val Saint Lambert factory in Jemeppe from 1901. He developed new techniques for handcrafted production, experimented with materials and expanded the range of artistic products with his wife Jeanne. In Jemeppe they specialized in the production of everyday glass and opaline glass, and glassmakers from all over Europe were employed here. There are a few vases in various sizes, with the painted VSL code. The "Oignon de Jemeppe" was particularly successful, a hand-blown onion-shaped vase in various sizes.
