58 cm high Art Nouveau vase with irises, Etude Galle around 1900

Large vase made of colorless glass with light green, honey-yellow and topaz-colored overlay, surface matt on the inside, club-shaped body with solid stand and laced vase edge, wall with ice-glass-like surface and surrounding relief etched decoration of the iris with leaves and branches, internal drawing in flat high etching , outside acid polished. Inscribed above the stand on the wall with an engraved oriental signature: Galle Etude. Polished base with dislocated and matted demolition. Emile Galle, Nancy around 1900. Height: approx. 58.5 cm, diameter at bottom: 18.5 cm, diameter at top: approx. 13.0 cm. Lit: Pieces marked "Etude" are inlaid pieces that suffered some form of damage during the delicate manufacturing process. When Emile Galle determined that this piece was important and artistic enough, he marked it as an "Etude" and the vase was sold with the faults.
