These were the guild symbols of the merchants for trade, transport and shipping. Monogram FG and date on a box 1847 or 1849 and the number 2. On the pewter lid a porcelain plate with enameled coat of arms (heraldry) in the form of a crest, ship, anchor and Hermes the messenger of the gods. Attached ear handles, star cut in the bottom. Thumb presser with engraved heraldic helmet ornament. Small chip on the upper back edge of the muzzle, not noticeable and not annoying. Bohemia, mid-19th century Height. approx. 15.5 cm.
