Product Details

Glashütte: Portsdam

Heavy beaker made of colorless, thick-walled glass, tapering cylindrical shape with an oval field containing architectural and floral motifs. The remaining wall is decorated with matte-cut flowering branches and polished spheres. A continuous foliate border runs below the heated rim. The base has a sphere and a truncated rim inside the bowl. The beaker is intact, with slight air bubbles in the glass. The glass is clear and exhibits strong fluorescence under UV light. The beaker is in good condition. Probably Potsdam, circa 1680-90. Height: approx. 10.7 cm, diameter: approx. 9.6 cm, rim diameter: approx. 5 mm.
