Iittala Savoy vase made of cobalt blue glass, designed by Alvar Aalto

A cobalt blue glass vase with an organic shape, blown to shape, with a polished rim. The base is marked with an etched stamp "ALVAR AALTO." The body retains the remnant of an original adhesive label. The vase is in undamaged condition; the body shows slight signs of wear and the base shows signs of sliding. Ittala, Finland, designed by Alvar Aalto (1898-1976), form 3030, first cast in 1936, the second half of the 20th century. Height: approx. 16.0 cm. Depth: approx. 17.0 cm. Diameter: approx. 20.0 cm.
